Nominalizările Oscar 2019 au fost anunţate marţi (22 ianuarie), în Los Angeles. Ceremonia a fost prezentată de actorii Tracee Ellie Ross şi Kumail Nanjiani. Black Panther şi Roma au scris istorie cu nominalizarea pentru Cel mai bun film, primul fiind un film cu supereroi, al doilea, o peliculă Netflix. Roma şi The Favourite conduc lista nominalizaţilor.
Cea de-a 91-a gală de decernare a premiilor Academiei Americane de Film va avea loc pe 24 februarie, la Dolby Theatre din Hollywood. Filmul Black Panther a scris istorie, fiind prima peliculă cu supereori nominalizată la premiile Oscar. Şi Roma, a lui Alfonso Cuaron, a bifat o premieră, ca primul film Netflix nominalizat la pentru Cel mai bun film.
